It’s that time of year again when you’ll start to notice your instagram feed and facebook timeline flooded with friends’ holiday pics from a fabulous summer in Europe! This time of year is the most perfect time to escape the chill of our Australian winter and head abroad. Travis and I are heading to the UK and Europe in August (can’t wait!) and in anticipation I am getting myself organised for some more sight seeing and exploring! I’m in dire need of a new backpack (and not one that looks like I came from a hike through the Amazon!)
Here are my top 10 picks for the chicest backpacks on the market, perfect for your next vacay (and beyond!)

The Horse Backpack
When it comes to anything pink I’m in! I’ve seen this beautiful leather backpack by leather company The Horse in the flesh as a friend was gifted it for her birthday and it is stunning! It’s a fab size too (large enough for a laptop) without being bulky. The quality is really amazing! I’ve been eyeing off the black leather backpack but now that I’ve seen it in blush I think I am sold!
Saddler & Co Backpack
One of my favourite leather brands (and locals to the Central West of NSW) are the team at Saddler and Co. Bede and his wife Jemima run this family-owned business from an incredible studio store in Dubbo. As well as making the most beautiful leather belts, clutch bags and saddlery, this winter they are releasing limited numbers of their newest design – the backpack! I know the quality of Bede’s work is always impeccable so if you’re in the market for a leather back pack you better jump on this pre-order asap!
Kate Spade Kingston Drive Simona
It was so hard to choose a favourite from Kate Spade’s backpack collection but this one is pretty perfect! With a little more detail and less backpack-esque I can totally see this backpack living a long and happy life well beyond my next trip overseas.
Marc Jacobs The Pack Shot
If you’re looking for something a little different to the ordinary black-leather look you’ll love the latest collection by Marc Jacobs. This one features pops of colour and patterns and is such a cute size. This would suit those smaller trips or a day out when you don’t need to travel with your books or laptop!
The Daily Edited Black Structured Backpack
Who doesn’t love something they can personalise?! I love The Daily Edited and their products, the quality is always fab and the idea of being able to print my initials in gold foil onto my clutch or backpack is a super cool touch. This is a classic backpack that will take you through the years. That tiny gold clasp makes all the difference.
Belle & Bloom Kenzo Backpack
Khaki is such a great colour this season and I especially love it paired with pink! For something a little different, the Kenzo Backpack is both a great shape and size!
Sportsgirl Vela Textured Backpack
A backpack under $60 – what a steal! I love the look of this Sportsgirl backpack and what a cool colour! Teal is another awesome colour this season and would go with pretty much anything (and is a nice change to black).
Gucci GG Marmont Quilted Leather Backpack
If you’re going to splurge on a bag this year, make it this incredible Gucci bag! It may not really be in my price bracket, but it sure is chic and pretty to dream about!
Michael Kors Rhea Medium Leather Backpack
Mimco Velvet Splendiosa Backpack
Okay, so velvet is back in a big way, and although it may quickly fade from the trends again soon I still think this is a cute addition to your bag collection. It comes in 4 different colours and is super soft to touch. For those looking to add something a little more daring and different to their day-to-day you’ll love this backpack!
